FSEA Awards: Recognizing Excellence in Our Community

The Florida Society of Enrolled Agents (FSEA) is proud to honor outstanding individuals and chapters who exemplify dedication, leadership, and commitment to our profession. Each year, the FSEA Awards program recognizes exceptional contributions in various areas, celebrating those who inspire and elevate the enrolled agent community.

Awards Categories:

  • FSEA Excellence in Education Award: Honors significant leadership and contributions to FSEA education programs, impacting their quality and scope.

  • FSEA Excellence in Public Awareness Award: Recognizes outstanding efforts in increasing public recognition of “Enrolled Agent” and “EA” as the Tax Professional of Choice.

  • FSEA Chapter of the Year Award: Celebrates a chapter’s dedication to promoting member participation, local and national events, community service, quality education, and membership growth.

  • FSEA Enrolled Agent of the Year Award: Honors an individual who actively promotes our profession, enhances professionalism, exemplifies high ethical standards, and mentors new members.

  • FSEA Mentor Award: Recognizes an individual who significantly contributes to the growth of the enrolled agent profession and FSEA membership through leadership, encouragement, and nurturing.

Eligibility:

Each award has specific eligibility requirements. Please review the details carefully before submitting your nomination.

Excellence in Education Award: Must be an FSEA current member in good standing within the Association or any Non-EA who meets the criteria as follows: The immediate or long-term contributions could be made through, but not limited to, teaching, writing, development, service for an FSEA education program, or other activity. Whether or not a person is compensated for the activity will not be a consideration. Posthumous nominations are permissible.

Excellence in Public Awareness Award: The award is limited to affiliates, Chapters of FSEA, and to those individuals who are current members in good standing with the Association. Posthumous nominations are permissible. Nominee should be an organization or individual who has contributed significantly in the area of public awareness, having immediate or long-term impact on the heightened public recognition of the Enrolled Agent, the National Association of Enrolled Agents, its affiliates, or chapters of its affiliates. The contribution could be made through, but not limited to, public or media appearances, public awareness administration, serving on an FSEA committee, teaching, writing, and development, service with a public agency while representing the Association or other activity.

FSEA Chapter of the Year Award: Each Chapter President or designee would prepare a ‘scorecard’ of member activities during the timeframe as presented by the Awards Committee each year. The Scorecard might include, but limited to:

  • Attendance at Chapter Meetings

  • Number of members that attend FSEA or NAEA sponsored Education functions or Board meetings.

  • Number of Community Service hours or events by all members

  • Any Public Awareness efforts

  • Speaking engagements – volunteer or otherwise

  • Leadership positions held by members

  • Any other activities that promote our profession

On a designated date as provided each year by the Awards Committee, the chapter President or Designee would present a report to the committee to evaluate the overall chapter activities for the year. A scorecard is provided to each Chapter President.

Enrolled Agent of the Year Award: Nominee must be a member in good standing of FSEA.

Mentor Award: The award is limited to individuals who are current members in good standing with the Association.  Posthumous nominations are permissible. The nominee is an individual who has contributed significantly to the promotion of the enrolled agent profession and to the increase in the membership of FSEA.  The contribution will be made by an individual dedicated to the causes of enrolled agents, and who instills excitement for those causes by leading, encouraging, and nurturing those who follow.

Whether or not a person is compensated for the activity to be recognized will not be a consideration.

Nomination Process:

Nominating is easy! Fill out the nomination form for each award you wish to participate in. The form will collect information about the nominee and their achievements relevant to the chosen award.

Deadline:

All nominations must be submitted by March 15, 2024 to be considered.
